Aloe Vera for Skin Care
The Aloe vera plant is an African succulent that is popular as skin care ingredient. Now you will find Aloe vera outside Africa as it is a popular garden plant, especially in dry areas where gardens must be made with the climate in mind.
Aloe vera is commercially cultivated over the world to be used in skin care cosmetic. Outside Africa, you will find the largest Aloe vera farms in the Mediterranean region, the United States, the Caribbean and Japan. An Aloe vera plant will also do well indoors, but notice that it can grow very large and need re-potting.
The Greeks people, for example Alexander, applied the juice from the leaves to the wounds of his soldiers. In Egypt, Cleopatra, ever conscious of her beauty anointed her skin with many concoctions include aloe vera. It have been used in the Asian cultures of bygone days. Evidence is found of aloe vera usage in the ancient texts of China and India.
The cosmetic industry uses aloe vera widely. Many moisturizing skin care lotions contain the ingredient. In fact, people choose cosmetics that contain ‘age defying’ aloe vera. Besides hydrating the skin, it claims to regenerating collagen and elastin producing cells, leading people to believe that creams and lotions containing aloe vera help their skin remain soft and smooth much longer than it normally would.
As an emollient, it probably has some effect, judging by the number of cosmetics touting the ingredient. Even it is said that aloe vera has the power to rejuvenate and keep a person forever young.
Aloe vera juice can be used for sunburn treatment, and it makes a great skin moisturizer to be used after shaving or on dry patches of skin. Use it on my face just before I go to bed to help heal any sun damage done during the day.
Dermatologists that do facial surgeries use aloe vera to speed up and reduce facial or skin surface scarring.
Aloe vera can also be mixed with a few drop of jojoba oil and applied to your hair. This combination will help to keep your hair pores from plugging up.
Aloe vera is excellent for treatment of minor cuts and scrapes, burns and also sunburn. It is used in all kinds of cosmetics.
Keep a small bottle of aloe vera juice and add an ounce to two to your juice drinks. Also keep a bottle of 99% pure aloe for external emergencies and of course apply it to your face just before bedtime.

Back when I was 15 I got burned. A gas stove blew up in my face. I had 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree burns on my face and my hand (from where I stuck my hand into the oven to light the pilot light). Aloe Vera was one of the products that saved me from scarring!
