Sunscreen as Skin Care to Protect Skin From Damage and Aging

Sunscreen can cause skin dry, pigmentation, early aging even skin cancer. To protect skin from this threat, it is important to use sunscreen everytime. How to choose the proper sunscreen? It is also some important terminology when buy sunscreen.

SPF number
SPF number shows the number of protection that you will get if dab sunscreen on your face. How to know how much protection you get when see SPF number? Check here. When the time has finished, you have to dab again the sunscreen.
In the fact, we are difficult to get protection level as SPF says because the protection itself also depend on the quantity of sunscreen we have dabbed, the climate and our skin type. Most peoples dab too little sunscreen, so the result that gained is reduced became 50-80% from SPF number.
There isn’t a sunscreen that give 100% protection from UV light. More high SPF number, more little sunshine burn radiation that reach the skin. But, always remember that this little amount if accumulated can cause skin is burned if too long exploded by direct sunshine.

UVA
Caused aging on skin. Include long wave light so can penetrate until dermis layer or most deep layer. Also cause free radicals that break elastine and collagen that support skin structure and helps make skin appear young. UVA light is found all along the year.

UVB
UVB is short wave light that only reach skin surface. Can cause sunburn and cancer. The most hard of UVB is on summer when the sun has the most hot shine.

Infra red
Although the quantity that radiated by the sun isn’t danger, infra red make your skin became hot so it is susceptible toward UVA and UVB light damage.

Vitamin E/ antioxidant
Vitamin E and antioxidant in sunscreen neutralize free radicals that caused by sunshine.

Photostable
Sunscreen that in its lable is found ‘photostable’ terminology has mean that its effective level isn’t reduced because of sunshine. Sunscreen that isn’t photostable can lose its protection ability.

Broad spectrum
It is mean that the sunscreen give protection toward all UVB light and almost all of UVA light.
